New project will benefit organic operators & contribute to fairer EU Organic Regulation

In June 2024, we kicked off an exciting two-year project that will produce important information for most organic operators! Our mission? Analyse how the new EU Organic Regulation supports organic operators in reaching the EU’s ambitious target of 25% organic farmland by 2030.

Through a quantitative and qualitative study we will research what extra costs organic operators face due to regulatory requirements, some of them perceived as redundant. Our goal is to spark a much-needed conversation about what an ideal regulatory framework should look like to support organic’s growth and development.

As IFOAM Organics Europe, we have been working on various aspects on this issue for years in our ‘Developing Organic’ projects.
